Although it’s too early for a midlife crisis, it’s similar in several ways. You’ve graduated from “young” to “relatively young” status. When you order alcohol, it’s unlikely that anyone will ask for identification. You find yourself referring to college students as “kids” and marvelling at how youthful today’s high school students appear. On most nights, when the clock strikes 11 p.m., you’re most likely in bed (don’t lie). If you go out on weekends, you’re secretly hoping you’ll be able to make it till 1 a.m. You’ll notice yourself saying stuff like “when I was your age” and “kids today” at this point. It’s as if you went to bed one night and awoke with your mother possessing you. “Help!” you scream.
I decided to go tour on some of the most infamous spots in Kolkata I used to visit as a child. Starting with Princep Ghat, we head on to Victoria Memorial, The Missionaries of Charity, and finally Nicco Park where the 2 year old me kicked in.
